Once your samples arrive at our ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory, you’ll receive your confidential paternity test results by email within 5 business days.

Results from our at-home DNA paternity tests are for personal knowledge and peace of mind only. Because your check swab samples are collected at home and not verified by an independent witness, they cannot be used in New Zealand Family Court or other legal proceedings.

How Paternity Tests Work
Children inherit half of their DNA from each parent. By comparing a child’s DNA profile with that of the alleged father, we can determine whether the man tested has passed on his DNA to the child.
At Identilab, we analyse 23 DNA markers (plus 4 markers for biological sex determination) to provide the most reliable DNA paternity testing results in New Zealand. All testing is performed in our purpose-built Australian laboratory by scientists with over 45 years of combined experience in human identification sciences.
DNA Paternity Testing With Father & Child Only
For the most accurate results, we recommend including the child’s mother in the test. However, DNA testing can still be performed for our New Zealand customers with just the alleged paternal father and child if the mother is not available.

1. Order Your At Home Paternity Test Kit
Order your DNA paternity test online or contact us by phone, email, or through our contact form. If you order before 12pm on a weekday (Brisbane time), your kit will be dispatched to New Zealand the same day. Orders placed after 2pm NZ time or on weekends/public holidays will be sent the next business day. Kits are shipped in discreet packaging.
2. Collect Your DNA Samples
Your at home paternity test kit includes everything you need, with clear instructions. Collecting the samples is quick, painless, and done at home using cheek swabs. Return your samples to our laboratory using a tracked shipping method of your choice.
3. Receive Your Results
Once all samples are received, our scientists begin the genetic parentage testing analysis. You’ll receive your results by email within 5 business days (as long as the samples are good quality and no extra testing is required).
